Sir

The report on "Condom use among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA)" is very interesting. [1] Salaudeen et al. have reported that "The poor uptake of condom among PLWHA underscores the need for government and other stakeholders in the management of HIV/AIDS to provide more enlightenment opportunities to address the gaps in condom use and disclosure of HIV status to partners. [1]" In fact, there are some previous similar reports on this topic from Nigeria. Amoran and Ladi-Akinyemi reported the similar finding and mentioned for the importance of "understanding of the dynamics of family life and gender issues. [2]" However, there are still some remained questions. It is questionable that the rate of condom use can be a good indicator for HIV prevalence reduction among PLWHA or not. An interesting example is the present situation in the Northern Thailand. In that area, a recent report showed "consistent condom use was high among people living with HIV, [3]" however, the problem of HIV in this setting is still extremely serious.
